Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley has remarked that he won’t allow Mexican cartels to gain a foothold in the U.S. during the coronavirus confusion. Drug cartels have been looking to ramp up traffic into and throughout the U.S, and General Milley isn’t having it. The comment comes shortly after President Trump announced that a new offensive against drug cartels will take place. “Today the United States is launching enhanced counter narcotics operations in the western hemisphere to protect the American people from the deadly scourge of illegal narcotics,” commented Trump. Milley also noted that the U.S. military will start playing a larger role in the efforts to curb Mexican cartels.
