Army basic training slowed as 6 recruits removed for possible coronavirus | Army Times

Recruiting for the Army has shifted to being all online, and the number of recruits going through basic training have been cut in half. As more social distancing measures are put in place and positive coronavirus cases rise, basic training numbers are being reduced. Six new recruits have tested positive for the virus after going through a medical screening. Army officials are now having recruits screened and tested before arriving at military entrance processing stations. They are then screened while at MEPS, and also a third time when they initially arrive at their training location “They go into what we would call a quarantine even if they’re showing no signs, and then they begin training,” commented Army Chief of Staff James McConville.
