14 years ago, Larry Brilliant participated in a Ted Talk where he described the next pandemic we would face as a major disaster with over 100 million deaths. With the coronavirus here, Brilliant who is currently the Chairman of the board of Ending Pandemics has had a hard time not saying, “I told you so.” While the world is still a long way from 100 million deaths, everyone is questioning when this will be over. Brilliant has now commented that this is the worst pandemic in our lifetime, and the systems needed to combat the outbreak are not in place. He has also noted that President Trump failed to take action quick enough, and that it is ridiculous that there are people who believe the virus is a democratic hoax.
