Soldiers and their families who are being affected by the halt on all permanent change of duty station moves can now apply for hardship pay. Currently soldiers who were going to be moving to a new installation are stalled for an unforeseen amount of time. “The Army proactively stopped movement to protect our soldiers, preserve our capability and protect our nation,” commented Lt. Gen. Duane A. Gamble. Granted hardship pay is $100 a day without exceeding $1,500 in order to help pay for lodging. A soldier currently at Fort Bragg is entitled up to the $1,500 a month until the freeze on moving is over. Those currently in isolation after moving are also eligible to receive an isolation allowance.
