While China has no new reports of coronavirus cases, another wave of infections is likely to occur. Cases throughout Europe are spreading at a faster rate than in Asia, with countries going on full lockdowns. Despite efforts in China to slow the infection rate, and the recent reports of no new cases, the virus is hard to detect for at least several days in most patients. Once social distancing and lockdown measures come to an end, the country is likely to see a resurgence in cases. Also, less than one percent of the population had the virus during the first wave, leaving hundreds of millions open to the following infection rates. Scientists are also saying that until there is a vaccine or a cure, it will continue to spread across the globe despite quarantine measures.
