Six Al-shabaab fighters were killed, and one was captured by special forces troops in the Jirole area, Garissa County. Other militant groups have been using certain routes to launch attacks and sneak into Kenya. It is believed that the engaged group was planning to use IEDs on approaching vehicles. Reports and officials say that at least 20 people have been killed in these attacks in the last two months in the area. President Uhuru Kenyatta has also called on the North Eastern region leaders to collaborate and plan out a solution to put an end to these attacks.
