The five-day Dagohoy Patrol (DagPat) Challenge 2020 for the Philippine Army came to a close as part of a celebration for their 123rd anniversary. The exercise is named after Francisco Dagohoy and is based off of the United Kingdom’s Cambrian Patrol Exercise. Lieutenant General Gilbert Gapay commented on how the challenge works to assess the capabilities of the army’s readiness and looks to create new recommendations for improvement. DagPat was held at the Jungle Training Base in Batuan, Bohol and saw major units travel through a 50-kilometer route over the span of 48 hours. They also participated in surpassing numerous obstacles and conducted renaissance patrols.
