A pet dog in Hong Kong, China has tested positive for a low-level infection of the coronavirus, allegedly from its owner. Many are now concerned that canines and possibly other pets will be able to spread the virus. Scientists have stated, however, that this is the only known case in a pet and there is no evidence that canines can spread the virus or are sickened by it. The dog has since been isolated as doctors and researches continue to monitor it. Also, since the test was only weak positive, this can mean that the virus is not replicating enough for the dog to spread the virus to anyone else.
