Secret submarine capability shown in NATO photo | Forbes

The Dynamic Manta NATO exercise started in February, leading to a recent photo of an Italian submarine catching attention. On the back of the submarine are nine inconspicuous blocks that could easily be mistaken for nothing. However, these are actually attachment points that would hold a covert special forces mini-sub. Italy regularly remains the country with some of the quickest advancements in submarines and are often considered to be ten years ahead of everyone else. Another theory for the blocks is that they can be used as a dry deck shelter hanger that would hold boats or special forces diving vehicles.
