Citizens in the villages of Kerawa, Zareyawa and Minda were gunned down as they were heading home from the local mosque. The terrorists continued to raid the village that resulted in burned down homes and buildings, killings, and kidnappings. Currently 50 bodies have been recovered, but the count continues to rise as recovery efforts continue. The attack was allegedly in response to the villager aiding the local army in a fight against bandits who had nearby hideouts. A Kaduna police spokesman said an investigation is underway to uncover which terror group is behind the attack, as the number of raids has been steadily rising throughout the region.
