Joel B. Montgomery has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison after a wild case of events uncovered missile defense systems, extreme government distrust, and alleged nerve agents. According to some of his neighbors, Montgomery was the crazy vet next door who distrusted the government and had a hobby for collecting firearms.. Police were originally called to his home after someone heard him shooting weapons on his property. Their discovery? 177 firearms, pressure cookers, and the AN/AAR-47 Missile Warning System and Control Countermeasure Set Display Unit. Texts and communications also showed that Montgomery had plans to plant trip wires around his property, and even claimed he placed nerve gas in several cities.
