The long-term goal of preventing and controlling mass outbreaks has always been at the forefront of government. With the deadly coronavirus spreading quickly, now is the time to act. Currently the virus has a mortality rate of around 1%, much higher than the flu. Healthy adults have also died after infection, not just those with health concerns and the elderly. In order to stop the spread and help those who do catch it, the world leaders need to come together. More money and collaboration need to be spent on finding a cure, and it needs to then be accessible to everyone. The cure will have to be accessible to the lower- and middle-class members who don’t have health insurance. Countries in Asia and Africa will also need more help, and the cure should be distributed in these countries immediately.
