Must Read

Bob Weighton was born on 29 March 1908 and is about to be named the world’s oldest man. The current record was held by 112-year-old Chitetsu Watanabe who recently passed away. Weighton grew up in Hull and has lived through the reign of five monarchs and 22 prime ministers. He currently shares the title of the oldest person in Britain with Joan Hocquard who was born on the same day. There are almost 50 women older than Weighton, with 117-year old Kane Tanaka holding the title of oldest living person in the world. He has commented that he didn’t do anything to deserve his longevity but is appreciative that he has avoided getting cancer or being run over by a bus.
