Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Grinston has been testing and looking into an Integrated Visual Augmentation System. Grinston navigated an empty room while taking cover and engaging fighters while wearing the simulation goggles. The IVAS goggles are designed to provide training, navigation systems, weapon sights, and other features to increase the wearer’s capabilities. Soldiers, Marines, and special operations personnel are currently testing these new systems. In July several platoons will also run a live-fire drill using the goggles during a two-week long event.
