The battles in Libya have been integrating more high-tech gear and precision strike weapons. These range anywhere from drones to artillery, and the 2020 U.N. report details the growth of these weapons throughout the fight. The fighting has been edging more towards mirroring the conflict between Ukraine and Russia as hybrid warfare is implemented, including GPS jamming and the spread of misinformation. With the conflict ever-evolving, now is the time for the U.S. to gauge their abilities against this type of warfare and develop strategies to combat these tactics. Military officials are also warning of increased Russian activity and believe the Wagner Group is responsible for shooting down a U.S. drone in Tripoli in November.
