‘Little Sparta’ USSOCOM Commander highlights Marine Raider accomplishments at 14th Anniversary | DVIDS

The Marine Forces Special Operations Command Headquarters held a ceremony to celebrate the 14th anniversary of MARSOC at Camp Lejeune, N.C. General Richard D. Clarke commented on the organization and the vital role they play, stating “as we look forward into a future riddled with uncertainty and ever evolving threats, MARSOC will remain an essential part of SOCOM.” This past year saw MARSOC participate in 12 named operations in numerous locations such as Iraq, Africa, and the Philippines. Maj. Gen. Daniel D. Yoo, MARSOC commander, also spoke during the ceremony and expressed the pride he held for everyone involved with the Raiders.
