Barbara Kelly and Diane Nelson were among the list of extras selected from Hurlburt Field to appear in “The Last Full Measure.” Kelly’s late husband was a pararescue jumper, and she attended the film’s focus, Pitsenbarger’s Medal of Honor ceremony. Nelson’s late husband was an Air Force chaplain. The film, released last month, follows the story of Airman 1st Class William Pitsenbarger on April 11, 1966 as a pararescue jumper in the jungle near Saigon. His family was presented with his Medal of Honor in 2000, and the ceremony is reenacted in the film. Kelly commented on the extreme impact the film had on herself and others in the community, stating “it was an honor to be there.”
