A Belfast newspaper received a phone call saying that a bomb was on a truck heading for a ferry to Scotland. Despite nothing being found, a couple days later another call came in with more information. The next day police discovered an explosives-laden vehicle that was set to go off at the time the United Kingdom was leaving for the European Union. Police have commented on their belief that the act was done by the Continuity IRA, or Irish Republican Army. Detectives are currently investigating the area and suspects and have asked anyone with information to come forward.
