A popular sports app, Strava, revealed personal information on SAS troops, and the fear that Russian intelligence gathered this classified information is growing. A researcher from an investigative website called Bellingcat was able to hack Strava and reveal personal information, such as names of troops, leading many to wonder if Russian hackers have been doing the same thing. The security failure was shown at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and revealed 14 names within just five minutes. Nick Waters was able to convince the app he had completed different running routes inside the base, where he was then shown Facebook profiles and names of people who had run the same route.
