‘They want us to be choirboys’: Special operations troops mock order to behave | Washington Examiner

A letter and comprehensive review from the special operations commanders has caused an uproar among the troops. The review looked into why SOF troops have been found to commit more war crimes in recent months and were “constantly getting into trouble.” One anonymous member going by Bobby commented “It’s laughable, the whole thing is a joke. The military tells us to be savages, but now they want us to be choirboys.” The review cited that there might be an ethics problem in the SOF community, poor leadership, and that the troops essentially need to be nice to each other. A call for change was mentioned but did not include a plan or means to improve the so-called issues. Numerous other troops commented on their disgust for the review, asking if politicians had been breathing down their necks while writing the letter.
