98-year-old Arkansas WWII veteran who participated in Normandy invasion passes away | THV11

Denman E. Wolfe passed away at the age of 98 at the Arkansas State Veterans Home in North Little Rock. He was the last Arkansas-based WWII U.S. Army Ranger to storm the beaches of Normandy in 1944. Wolfe bravely participated in what is now known as D-Day as a private at the age of 23. Assigned to the 5th Ranger Battalion, Company D, Governor Hutchinson commented on his bravery and sacrifice, as well as the examples Wolfe set throughout his life that others should strive to follow.
