Germany’s Military Counterintelligence Service (MAD) has opened 550 new investigations into soldiers believed to be right-wing extremists. Fourteen cases were confirmed last year, with eight of them having right-wing views. 40 other individuals also failed to uphold the values of the German constitution. “Our goal is to not only remove extremists from the German military but also people who lack loyalty to the constitution,” commented the head of the MAD. Cases also seemed to be concentrated on the KSK Special Forces Command, with 20 cases falling into the units.
