President Trump can regularly be heard talking about his desire to end the wars in the Middle East and bring the deployed troops home. The January 3rd attack by the Al-Shabab group on a base in Kenya resulted in the death of three Americans. Two of these citizens were military contractors, not soldiers. Private contractors, often made up of veterans and those with a government background, are being utilized by the U.S. government as a way to fight wars without the U.S. actually being responsible. While the pulling of troops from these countries may sound like a step forward, they are simply being replaced with other U.S. citizens in the form of contracting.
