World Athletics has announced they will soon publish their findings into Vaporfly and other shoe technology that has led to the crushing of numerous track records. Vaporfly, a Nike brand, uses carbon plate and extremely springy compressed foam to help return more energy to the runner compared to the average running shoe. World Athletics has always maintained restrictions on midsole thickness for high jump and long jump shoes, but running shoes have never been governed. Due to the new technology available, those who want to be classified as elite and go for a record may need to wear a different brand of running shoe.
