An evacuation flight being prepared for U.S. consular staff located in Wuhan may not have enough room for all private American citizens trapped in the city. “The Department of State is making arrangements to relocate its personnel stationed at the U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan to the United States,” commented the Embassy in Beijing. With limited space on the aircraft, those at greater risk from the coronavirus will receive evacuation priority. An American citizen who is teaching at a university in Wuhan has commented on how the U.S. has not reached out to most citizens in the city. She also claims they are only evacuating people the government has deemed as “essential” and leaving the rest behind.
