Capt. Kevin A. Larson, 33, from Las Vegas killed himself after fleeing two days before his court-martial. He was court-martialed to Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada before he fled in his Jeep, being chased by the Air Force and the police. Larson’s car was found on Sunday parked a little ways off the road. A drone was sent in and returned with images detailing what appeared to be a person inside. Shortly after, a gunshot went off in the nearby area, leading to officials discovering his body on the nearby hillside. Col. Stephen Jones commented in an email, “his death was an unexpected tragedy. No matter what his situation or actions, he was a member of our Air Force family.”
