Royal Navy sends Marines to Arctic to prepare for new era as UK freezes | Plymouth Herald

Over a thousand forces from the Royal Marines and Royal Navy have been sent to train in Norway where they are jumping into freezing cold, iced-over water. The Cold Weather Survival Course Training in the Arctic prepares the elite Green Berets to conduct their regular efforts and survive in frigid temperatures. Ice breaking drill training and pulling one’s self out of the water is just some of the intense exercises involved. This is just the beginning for these troops in cold weather climates as they prepare for Exercise Cold Response that will take place in February and March in Norway.
