In a 24-hour period, 15 clearing operations and special forces operations were conducted in different provinces in Afghanistan. The Afghan National Army conducted joint operations with the Afghan National Police and National Directorate of Security in half a dozen provinces. Those provinces are Jawzjan, Helmand, Kapisa, Balkh, Urzgan and Nangarhar provinces. These extensive military raids have resulted in the death of 21 Taliban fighters. 17 have been wounded. A vehicle and three motorbikes were seized during one of the raids when forces bombed the Taliban hideouts. At least three insurgents were arrested and sent to the judicial structures.
