Men’s Health fitness director Ebenezer Samuel, C.S.C.S. has compiled a list of commonly believed fitness rules that are actually false. Believing that you have to go heavy all the time and always using the maximum weight can lead to injury and improper form. This can lead to cheating on the last reps, causing you to develop negative form habits which leads to a less productive workout. Constant overhead pressing is another thing you’ll see when you walk into a gym. While this seems to be the ultimate manly workout, too much will wreck your shoulders and back compared to switching it up more often.
