First female army guard enlisted soldiers graduate Ranger School | Army Times

Must Read

Staff Sgt. Jessica Smiley from South Carolina and Sgt. Danielle Faber from Pennsylvania have become the first women in the Army National Guard to graduate from Ranger School. The first two female officers passed the course in 2015, with the first enlisted woman graduating in 2018. Faber began working toward her mission of becoming a Ranger in 2016 when she attempted the Pennsylvania Ranger/Sapper program, but she was not selected until 2018 when she tried the assessment again. Since 2015 more than 30 female soldiers have earned a Ranger tab and over 1,200 have entered combat career fields since 2016.
