ISIS has been beat down with defeats against the U.S. when the territorial stronghold was taken back and the leader of the group, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in 2019. Over the past year, however, the terrorist network had planned out coordinated attacks and continued to promote propaganda campaigns. Baghdadi’s successor, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi, is a man with little information on his true identity that the U.S. State Department has labeled as a nobody. Despite inheriting a damaged ISIS, Qurashi has the basics needed to build the group back to a terrorizing organization.
