A research article released in 1961 was the first major document to state that squatting was bad for your knees. The study done claimed to show that those who did not squat had more flexibility in their knees, meaning that their body was better off. However, the study had a faulty control group and was overall very unscientific. The idea stuck however, leading to debates on the health concerns of squatting.
