A 30-year research study has released their findings, stating those in the military get paid too much. The study claims officers and enlisted are above the 70th percentile compared to civilians who have similar training and skills. “The important question is whether military pay is set too high relative to civilian pay,” says the report. One recommendation by Rand Corp. is to base pay off of performance rather than a normal monthly paycheck. Also, more incentives and bonuses are recommended instead of general pay increases.
