Two pararescue airmen receive silver star for gallantry in Afghanistan | Pacific Air Forces

Tech. Sgt. Gavin Fisher and Staff Sgt. Daniel Swensen have been awarded the Silver Star for saving nearly 40 lives and eliminating over 100 enemy troops. Fisher was awarded for his actions as a pararescueman during ground combat where he saved 10 soldiers, who were severely injured, and eliminated 118 Taliban fighters. He saved the lives of his fellow troops all while injured after being struck by shrapnel from a grenade. Swenson received the Silver Star for fighting off enemy troops and saving nine lives after being injured and trapped by an ambush.
