The AIM-114R9X Hellfire missile has recently been used in two terrorist strikes but remains under wraps despite the minimal collateral damage done. While it is unclear how the several different models differ, they offer multi-purpose warheads with the ability to be manned or unmanned. The AGM-114R has the ability to break through armored vehicles and buildings, and can be used in open spaces by breaking into pieces of shrapnel. Some of the variations have also been deemed “very low collateral damage” due to the extreme accuracy and use of a warhead with blades.
