US military releases photos showing Bagram Air Base damage following brazen Taliban assault | Military Times

Bagram Air Base suffered moderate damage after a suicide bomber detonated at a medical facility right outside the base. Afghan and U.S. forces were engaged in a firefight with the terrorists for nine to ten hours before an airstrike ended the battle. Five Georgian soldiers received minor injuries, and there were no U.S. casualties. The bombing took place despite the current peace talks between the Taliban and the U.S.
