Meet the man who climbed Everest, partied for a week, then climbed it again | The Sportsman

The previous record for climbing the 14 highest mountain peaks in the world stood at seven years, eleven months and two weeks, until Nirmal Purja decided to smash the record by six years. A former Special Forces officer in Nepal, Purja completed the 14 climbs in just 189 days. To top it off, he would party for up to a week in between each climb. First, he climbed Mount Everest, partied for a week, climbed Everest again, and then went on to climb the fourth and fifth highest peaks within the span of five days.
