Hawkeye Systems got their big break when Sony Pictures Studios used their innovative camera technology in a film. Now the company is looking to the military to be their next customers. Hawkeye offers body worn and canine worn cameras that provide a 360-degree field-of-view and a higher resolution image. SOCOM currently uses technology from manufacturers, GoPro and Axon, but the resolution is not nearly as great as what Hawkeye Systems promises to provide. Because Hawkeye has 25-plus-years of experience in the entertainment industry, solving film and movie problems, they were enabled to create phenomenal software, simulation and image interpretations. Corby Marshall, the CEO of Hawkeye Systems, has experience in the military, graduating from West Point and then becoming an Army artillery officers who served with the 10th Mountain Division task force in Somalia. His partner being a Hollywood movie producer, Lucas Foster has over 50 film credits and is a principal at a West Hollywood studio that specializes in advanced virtual reality content creation. In addition to their team is Michael Mansouri, the co-founder of Radiant Images, an LA-based digital cinema 3D/VR technology developer. Putting these three people together, it’s the perfect team to develop advanced volumetric imaging and light field capture. Using multiple camera views and AI, they argue that their software, ‘could tell you that that building has 250,000 square feet. I can give you volumes without lasers or data lights. I can do it optically.’ In the intelligence community, this capability is highly desired; ‘it is the building blocks of VR tech that allows a viewer to virtually walk around a scene and see it from any vantage point.’
