A foundation aimed at helping families who have had a family member killed overseas has paid off another home. The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation fully paid for the mortgage on the house for Army Sgt. 1st Class Dustin Ard’s family at the beginning of the month. Ard was killed in Afghanistan during his third deployment in August. He is survived by his pregnant wife, Mary, and three-year old daughter. Mary has commented on her gratefulness to the foundation and supports their efforts to help ease burdens on Gold Star families.
