For the Singapore Armed Forces’ Special Operations Task Force, a new command centre was commissioned for them to execute counter-terrorism operations in a faster, more lethal and efficient way. In an effort to proactively plan, monitor and manage homeland security incidents in different locations, the Special Operations Command Centre will compile different sources of information from drones and government agencies. This allows real-time planning, monitoring and managing for different areas at the same time, as well as real-time situational awareness for ground soldiers. The centre was commissioned by Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen on Wednesday, December 4th, and it will be located at Hendon Camp, Loyang. During the commando formation’s 50th anniversary parade, the Defense Minister officiated it, stating that this was an evolving effort to respond to the growing terrorist threat.
