Iraq unrest: Nearly 40 killed in fresh wave of protests | BBC

Over 25 people were killed on bridges in Nasiriya after security forces opened fire in an attempt to clear the bridges. An additional four protesters died in Baghdad followed by 10 more in the city of Najaf. The citizens of Iraq have ramped up their protests on job demand, corruption, and requiring improved public services. An emergency unit has been created by the military in order to help fight the protests. Over 350 people have been killed since the protests have begun.
