The Citadel to shuffle sophomore cadets next year. Some alumni aren’t happy about it. | Post and Courier

Under the old and current system, cadets attending The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, spend all of their four years living in the barracks with their cadet company. However, there is a new system that would have sophomores switch companies. Now known as the ‘sophomore shuffle,’ this new system is designed to improve leadership abilities and put an end to hazing. Alumni aren’t pleased about the change. Brad Bruggemann, a Citadel alumnus, has created a Facebook page called “Save The Cid” and plans to fly a weather balloon over a football game with a banner saying, “Keep Companies Together.”
