In order to better respond to emergency situations, lieutenant-colonel Raphaël Bechet is calling for a streamlined process for purchasing small materials. Smaller electronic devices, such as radios and remote viewing equipment, can be needed suddenly during a crisis. Currently, lieutenant-colonels are limited to 2,500 euro purchases even if they command units containing hundreds of men. More financial freedom and trust would enable airstrikes and equipment to be called in faster and easier.
