Troops will keep guarding Syrian oil, but U.S. won’t keep profit, Pentagon says | Military.com

Jonathan Hoffman, a Pentagon spokesman, has announced that profits driven from oil fields in Syria that are guarded by U.S. troops won’t be accepted. Instead, the revenue will go to the people who helped fight ISIS forces in Syria, the Syrian Democratic Forces. U.S. and SDF troops stood side by side as they defended the fields, which previously generated about 1.5 million dollars each day for the Islamic State.
