An Australian startup has designed an underwater drone constructed to map the ocean floor. An array of trackers, cameras, sonar, and motion sensors make up this new autonomous submarine. Currently the drones can travel up to one kilometer underwater. The creators believe the devices can be used for more than just ocean floor mapping and hope they will be used to help discover new species and help us better understand the oceans. Some images have already been taken and set up similar to Google Street View on their website.
