While there are cases of airplane passengers landing small planes after the pilot has lost consciousness, most of those cases end in disaster. To curb this issue, Garmin Avionics is releasing Autoland, an autopilot system that can land and stop a private aircraft. The innovative system will be introduced on two single engine planes, the Piper’s M600 SLS turboprop and Cirrus Aircraft’s Vision Jet. Both are priced at over two million dollars.
