We are excited to announce our partnership with the TB12 Foundation! The TB12 Foundation was founded in 2015 by six-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Its mission is to empower athletes everywhere to do what he’s done in his own storied career – keep going despite the odds. During the month of November, TB12 is offering 20 spots for active duty, separated, and retired Green Berets that includes (3) comp’d body sessions per veteran/service member and a complimentary TB12 camo hat. If you are interested in applying for one of the spots, please fill out this form with your information.

Written by former Green Beret, LTC Scott Mann and based on real events, Last Out is a story that has never been told in a voice that has never been heard. Performed by a professional cast of military veterans and military family members, this play is a white-knuckle ride that tells the real story of our soldiers and the families that fight alongside them. It’s more than a play…it’s Combat Storytelling. Last Out will be playing in Fayetteville, NC, at the Crown Expo for three shows on December 7th and 8th. Many of the scenes in Last Out take place at and reference real events from Scott’s days at Fort Bragg and in a very real way, we are bringing the show ‘home’ to Fayetteville. Tickets are available at http://lastoutplay.com.

Like so many other Green Beret wives, Steel Mag Lainey Crown has grappled with the challenges unique to raising a family in this community. When the wife of Patrick (20th SFG) and mom to Anderson (8), Greyson (5), and Madison (1) realized that her planned career as a full-time schoolteacher was not the ideal fit for her family, she began to consider other options. “My husband’s operational tempo was just too much, and I needed my kids to have more of a steady parent,” she recalls. Reflecting on this need for increased flexibility, and given her longtime love of fashion, she opened the mobile boutique Belle of Bogue. A complete boutique on wheels that she can bring to house parties, office parties, pop-ups, festivals, and events (also selling online), Belle of Bogue was the answer to Lainey’s struggles. “When a child gets sick, I couldn’t just shut down a store front for the day, but with the mobile boutique, I can achieve the work-life balance that fits my family right now,” she reflects. A Kentucky native who now resides in the metro Atlanta area, not living supported by other nearby Green Beret families in proximity to a base has presented an additional challenge for Lainey and her family. Thankfully, she says, the Steel Mags Nomad Chapter was there to fill that gap. “We moved here and Patrick deployed 4 months later; I was still selling a house in North Carolina, buying a house here, moving from a rental, all while raising 3 kids, and I didn’t have anybody here who really understood.” That, she says, is when she connected with the Steel Mags—and it made all the difference. “It is so good to connect with ladies who know what you are going through and build those relationships. You never have to feel alone or isolated,” she says. Her advice for other Green Beret wives, especially to those newer to the community? “If you’re a new mom, reach out to the Steel Mags to find someone who has been there and done it. We have a lot of tips and tricks to keep your family connected! In this whole process, my biggest lesson has been to help other women who are going through it. The Steel Mags provide a judgement-free space to ask for help, guidance, and support.” To find your local Steel Mags chapter, please visit us on the website.

Brave For My Family, a children’s book celebrating the bravery of military children, publishes this Veterans Day, November 11th. The author, Davidson, age 9, shares what it was like when his dad, a U.S. Army Green Beret, was injured during a deployment to Afghanistan. Davidson hopes his story will help all children living in America to learn what it is like for a military kid whose parent or parents are away from home, protecting our country. The illustrations featured in the book were drawn by Davidson’s father. Brave For My Family will be available wherever books are sold, with proceeds going to the Green Beret Foundation, Navy SEAL Foundation, the Rick Herrema Foundation, Semper Fi Fund, Lead the Way Fund, and Patriot Foundation. The book is published by The Country Bookshop Publishing, a small publishing house in North Carolina. Follow Brave for My Family on Instagram – @braveformyfamily. Davidson and his family will hold a book reading, signing, and craft day at Ridgetop Coffee and Tea in Sterling, VA at 4:00 pm this Veterans Day, November 11th.
