Special Forces veteran Keith Holland is one of the numerous men who’s lives have been changed with the help of a support K-9. Holland received Quil, a Belgian Malinois, from the Special Operations Wounded Warriors to assist him in his everyday activities. The president of SOWW says the dogs act as battle buddies, giving them a companion that helps get the retired soldiers out of the house. “We’ve sent the guys up there to get training with the dogs who have written us letters saying they had picked a day that they were going to take their life,” stated the president. Holland has said that Quil has personally helped cut down his anxiety when in public, and that the dog acts as another set of eyes and ears to be aware of dangers.
