Chipotle announced earlier this month that it was expanding its education benefits program to offer employees the chance to earn one of 75 degrees from selected universities. The initiative will cover all costs of tuition to employees who have been with the company for 120 days or more and work at least 15 hours per week. To make the benefit possible, Chipotle partnered with Guild Education, a tuition reimbursement platform who has worked with several other massive chains. The investment not only offers employees a future, but plays into the growth plan of the company. While advanced degree attainment is associated with increased earnings, Chipotle’s retention rates have increased by 90% among those who participate in the education program. More and more companies are realizing the merit in doing good by their personnel while also seeing improved figures.
