More than 20,000 troops and pieces of equipment will be shipped from the US to Europe for a series of exercises that will be conducted on the Pacific to rehearse large movements. Military leaders in Europe say they have been practicing power projection strategies for the last three to four years and are ready to proceed at scale. US soldiers from five divisions will participate in five phases to hit key objectives. The entire exercise will cover 4,000km of convoy routes and relies on ten other countries to support the training. Allies and partners will have the opportunity to work directly with US troops to enhance relationships and interoperability. The largest deployment in 25 years, Defender-Europe 20 is almost guaranteed to conclude with significant results.
